Under supervision of the Production Inventory Control Manager, responsible for assuring that the material requirements for purchased items are filled in a timely and cost effective manner and that stocking levels are maintained within established guidelines. Interface with vendors, Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Service, Accounting and Field. Responsible in working in both an office setting and throughout manufacturing as required. Requirements:
Review open order requirements, monitor vendor performance, and expedite material as required. Assure that problems related to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in timely manner. Assure that orders are entered into and updated within the computer system in an accurate and timely manner. Recommend, develop and maintain stock programs such as KanBan as mutually determined by the Plant Manager and Purchasing Manager. Participate in the Materials Review Board (MRB) and ensure a timely resolution of discrepant material; follow up with vendor to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. Analyze and adjust inventory levels to coincide with lead time changes. Coordinate and expedite flow of material, review production schedules and confer with department supervisors to determine material expediting priorities to meet production demands. Run materials reports using the MRP/ERP system. Track and help maintain daily status of purchased orders, receiving and communicate problematic parts deliveries to the appropriate people. Communicate with transportation company to preclude delays in transit. Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required. Coordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services. Performs related duties as assigned.
